Arist Statement
Designed by Curiosity
Experimentation allows people to discover new ideas and techniques. Mixing different types of media permits the artist to create something totally unexpected. Essential to creating art, experimentation is a process and in some instances the purpose behind the art itself.
The series of works I create is all about experimentation and how I can use certain materials and mediums outside of their traditional norms. Each piece consists of digital projections, animation, and sculptural elements. I mix my interests in household furnishings, architecture, and fashion with the innovations of technology to create works that have a nostalgic feel. I experiment with Plexiglas, wood, and iridescent cellophane. The underlying idea of experimenting is to see a beginning vision or idea develop into something completely fresh. Odd, yet mesmerizing works are achieved through the experimentation and mixing of mediums to leave the viewer with a unique experience that makes them feel something.
I ask the viewer to think about how and why the work was produced. Experimentation is the key to creating innovative and aesthetically pleasing artwork.
